Sam Chen, LSW (she/her)

If you’re here, something in your life has probably been feeling like a lot to carry. You might be overwhelmed or stuck, or maybe you’re trying to make sense of things that haven’t made sense in a long time – whether it’s trauma, anxiety, shame, old relationship patterns, or a life change that stirred up more than you expected. And with the way the world is right now, it’s easy to feel worn down without even realizing how much you’ve been holding. If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. You don’t have to sort through it by yourself. Having one place to sort things out can help.

I don’t show up as someone who has everything figured out. I’m human too, and that shapes how I sit with people – more grounded, more curious. More real. We go at your pace, not mine. I work with adults across different stages of life, including neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ clients, parents, and people moving through fertility and family-building. My hope is that the space we build together feels supportive and respectful in a way that lets you breathe a little easier.

In the therapy room, my work is trauma-informed and pulls from the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), CPT, and DBT-informed approaches. I don’t see “symptoms” as flaws; they’re often the ways we learned to survive what we’ve lived through and the environments we’ve had to navigate. I tend to be especially helpful for people working through trauma, anxiety, and relationship dynamics. And my own background – being queer, gender fluid, and growing up within dual cultures – shows up in how I pay attention to the quieter pieces of someone’s experience, especially around feeling able to show up as yourself. Together, we work toward creating a space where you can be real without shame getting in the way. If this sounds like what you’re hoping for, I’d be glad to talk and see if we’re a good fit.
