Positive Regard Therapy (PRT) is a queer-owned boutique group therapy practice dedicated to helping adults cope with life’s toughest transitions and challenges. Based in Chicago, we partner with our clients through our therapy services to help them navigate issues such as break-ups/divorce, anxiety/stress, grief & loss, depression, trauma, relational discord, non-monogamy, identity exploration, and more.
PRT was founded in 2019 by Bert Fox, LCPC who wanted to provide a boutique therapy practice focused on working with LGBTQ+ clients to help them grow, change, and thrive. We currently have 7 clinicians and 3 interns on our Clinical Team, as well a Billing & Insurance Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the practice. As a practice, we maintain a warm and inviting culture that embodies learning, growth, support, and unconditional positive regard for everyone on the team.
Job Details
We are excited to expand our Clinical Team and are looking to hire a full-time Clinical Therapist. This position requires the therapist to work on Saturdays as part of their regular schedule.
Full-time therapists will be scheduled for up to 30 hours of work per week, with the expectation that they see 25 clients per week. The remaining hours will be dedicated to consultation, team meetings, trainings, and other non-client activities. PRT has a hybrid work model, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions.
Job Duties
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Therapist, ideally with prior experience in a private practice setting and experience working with queer clients.
At this time, the responsibilities of a Clinical Therapist at Positive Regard Therapy include:
Provide individual, couples, and relationship therapy services to adult clients with a variety of diagnoses.
Participate in practice-wide professional development trainings to develop or strengthen clinical skills.
Complete session notes, current treatment plan and obtain client payments in a timely fashion.
Formulate DSM diagnoses, as needed and appropriate.
Consult with other providers, psychiatrists, and other professionals as needed.
Contribute to and engage in the supportive positive team culture.

Billing and administrative work done by PRT on your behalf, allowing you to provide quality services to clients without worrying about billing, insurance calls, or coding issues
Individual CEU reimbursement benefit of $500 per calendar year
Potential to work from home full-time or part-time following the initial onboarding period
Competencies
Candidates for the Clinical Therapist position must:
Hold current license ore be eligible to file for licensure in IL as LPC, LCPC, AMFT, MFT, LSW, LCSW, Ph.D. or Psy.D.
Maintain a caseload of 25 clinical hours weekly
Special consideration will be given to applicants:
Who are engaged in a culture of belonging and acceptance of diversity
Have couples counseling experience and training
Special certifications that support clinical work
Already paneled with BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealth.

The Clinical Therapist will work closely with Founder & Clinical Director, Bert Fox, LCPC
Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation model based on a percentage split that is determined by your level of experience and licensure. Specific details regarding the percentage split will be discussed during the interview process, with consideration given to both experience and licensure status.
