Psychotherapy
It's helpful to know there are a number of therapeutic approaches and not just one way of doing therapy. At Positive Regard Therapy (PRT) we use several approaches to tailor the therapy to each individual or couple to work with clients in the most effective and efficient ways to reach their goals. Some methods in the therapeutic process include, but are hardly limited to: understanding the impact of meaningful relationships in one's life, raising awareness of irrational thoughts and belief systems, increasing emotional connectivity, and strategizing behavioral changes. Through increasing emotional and cognitive awareness, you can achieve goals of enhancing your life and overall mood.
Scheduling
Therapists are available Monday through Sunday by appointment. Appointments are typically 55 minutes in length, though in some instances, a longer session can be arranged. If we do not have availability that meets your needs, we are happy to offer referrals to trusted colleagues.
Health Insurance
Depending on the therapist we are able to accept clients who have the following insurances:
Aetna PPO
Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
Cigna PPO
UnitedHealth/Optum PPO
For any other insurance plans, seeing someone at PRT will be considered ‘out-of-network.’ We are happy to provide you with a monthly statement for reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance company if you wish to use insurance to ask about your in and out-of-network mental health benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance company concerning mental health benefits:
What are my benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician or a pre-approval to see a mental health professional?
Are there dollar limits, visit limits or other coverage limits for my mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible that needs to be met? Sometimes your deductible will not apply for mental health services. This means you would only need to pay your copay. Be sure to ask specific questions about this.
Session Fee
For those not using health insurance, the standard fee for individual therapy is $230 for the intake session and then $200 for each following individual session. For couples/relationship/family therapy the intake session rate is $200 and then $150 for following sessions. Payment is due at the time of service.
Sliding Fee
Therapists have a limited number of sliding-fee openings that they make available. For these, clients pay what they can afford, which can be especially helpful for those who are unemployed, underemployed or do not have adequate health insurance. To inquire if a particular therapist is accepting new sliding-fee clients, please contact us.
